Rent the Runway Announces Bibhu Mohapatra Evening Dress Collection
Fashion rental site RenttheRunway.com has announced a new collection of evening dresses by Indian designer Bibhu Mohapatra available today for rental from the site. Bibhu Mohapatra’s gowns typically sell for thousands of dollars, but the Rent the Runway collection will rent for under $500.00 US, with some dresses renting for much less. The collection is comprised of six styles that mix traditional Indian colors and fabrics with modern, art deco-inspired architectural cuts and details.
With Prom season coming up around the world, some of these dresses might be of interest for spring dances and some events. The fuchsia pink Lotus dress is a standout and looks red carpet ready. If you’re interested in checking out the gowns, use my invite to join Rent the Runway. I’ve always liked the Rent the Runway model since most of use don’t need to invest thousands of dollars in a special designer dress that we will only wear one time. It’s much more cost-effective to rent a special dress and then return it, instead of buying that dress and then watching it hang in the closet. What do you think readers? Do any of these dresses appeal to you?
I’m a lover of Indian inspired fashion and jewelry, so I find this collection very appealing. The first lady Michelle Obama wore Bibhu Mohapatra for a recent appearance on the Tonight Show. Look for dresses and jewelry from the collections of native Indian designers Nachiket Barve and Rahul Mista on Rent the Runway now.
