Kate Middleton Style: ISSA for Banana Republic
Women around the world love the style of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. One of Kate’s greatest fashion hits was the sapphire ISSA London dress she wore for her engagement press conference. The gorgeous deep blue faux wrap dress was a perfect match for Princess Diana’s sapphire engagement ring, which Kate inherited. Although most women swooned over Kate’s ISSA, the dress was not accessible to all because of the price (almost $1,000 US) and the lack of availability once Kate wore it. Now Banana Republic has announced that they will make the ISSA brand both affordable an accessible with a new collection of ISSA for Banana Republic (see sketches above for a preview) to launch in August 2013.
Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) reports that ISSA is collaborating with Banana Republic on a 40-piece collection launching on in stores on Aug. 6. But don’t expect the Banana Republic ISSA collection to have a replica of Kate’s engagement dress. From Banana Republic statements, it sounds like the collection will be heavy on prints, featuring zebra and giraffe stripes. Banana Republic does say the collection will feature wrap-tie and pleated dresses in solids, which is more similar to Kate Middleton’s ISSA looks along with accessories.
For more ISSA, check out their lower priced collection at the Outnet on sale now. The Outnet collection is very similar to Kate’s more demure style and includes full length dresses.
