Peter Som will be the next designer for Kohl’s

Designer Peter Som will do a collection for Kohl’s for Spring 2014

Hot of the heals of the showing of his Spring 2014 collection at New York Fashion Week, Designer. Peter Som has been announced as the next designer for Kohl’s DesignNation line.  The source of information is the uber reliable  Women’s Wear Daily.  The line is due in store’s next spring and according to WWD  “will draw inspiration from St. Barths, a tropical landscape we imagine will suit Som’s breezy pastels well.”

Mr. Som first came to my attention in a few years ago when I spotted this gorgeous dress he created (above) on actress Scarlett Johansson.  Here’s hoping he makes a low  priced version of this gorgeous frock  for Kohl’s.
  So what can we expect from Mr. Som for Kohl’s.  “The collection has a nice easy feeling, which I think is the way women dress now,” Som said. According to WWD, Kohls’ budget-conscious offerings won’t exceed $88.  That’s a price point at the high-end for other DesignNation collections.   This is good news for Mr. Som.  Some will remember he had to cancel his NYFW show a few season ago.  Kohl’s will give this talented designer the mass market reach he deserves.  This is Mr. Som’s second “bridge collection.”  He previously collaborated with Antropologie.
