Review: Ines de la Fressange Spring/Summer 2016 UNIQLO
The new Ines de la Fressange Spring/Summer fashion collection for 2016 is just in at UNIQLO stores and online. There’s nothing to edgy or iconoclastic here–just great looking basics modeled around three themes the former Chanel model, Madame de la Fressange, adores. The collection consists of safari, sports and navy uniform themes. The collection’s linen twill jackets, trench coat and light cashmere styled tennis sweaters, printed blouses and playful pullovers arrived at UNIQLO stores on January 21st. Some good looking printed half-sleeve dresses will arrive at stores and UNIQLO online on Feb. 26th.
For Spring 2016, Ines de la Fressange collection at UNIQLO features fashions inspired by sportswear and the early 19th century when women first started to play sports. There are some crisp white jackets inspired by Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby that look very 1920’s vintage. All the pieces look fresh and are designed to be easy to match.
The surprise here, since this is a spring collection, is the presence of so much navy. “I love navy,” notes Ms. de la Fressange. ” I can’t make a collection without navy. I think it’s a color that brings out your complexion. navy makes some people think of uniforms, but for me, I love uniforms.”
“I like the elegant feel of navy and white as well, as well as black and navy combinations. I disagree with the notion that navy and black are Winter colors. I love to wear them in the summer,” says Madame de la Fressange.
As my regular readers know, I love Ines de la Fressange at UNIQLO. I have bought many pieces from previous collections and found the quality and fit to be very good. The Spring 2016 IDLF collection at UNIQLO is just as good as previous collections, with many great pieces. My picks from this collection include the cashmere sweaters (you can’t beat the price on these starting at $29.90), the Milano ribbed long sleeve jacket, the lacy tunics and long-sleeve cardigans. I own the striped shirt with long sleeves, which is surprisingly good looking paired with jeans or black pants. On my petite frame, I think the stripes make me look longer and taller.
For accessories, check out the gorgeous printed scarf /stole for $19.90. The cute beanies are just $19.90 and come in navy blue, oatmeal and gray.
I’m looking forward to seeing the half-sleeve dresses when they come into stock on February 26th at UNIQLO. I own the same style of these dresses from the Spring 2015 collection and all I can say is “Je t’adore Ines style!” These shirt dresses elongate the wearer and look tres chic worn with the UNIQLO Ines vintage style belt, nude heels and the collar turned up. They will sell out, so bookmark the Ines de la Fressange webpage on the UNIQLO website and return there to get one for yourself on Feb, 26, 2016.
