Never Say Never: The Limited is Returning as an Online Retailer
Earlier this year The Limited retail fashion chain filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and shuttered their mall stores and their website. In February 2017, The Limited sold their online presence, social media communities and Intellectual Property to Sycamore Partners. With TheLimited.com freshly updated with a fall fashion contest plans to reintroduce the brand to the marketplace seem to finally be happening. The brand’s Facebook page has also been updated for the first time in months. Our sources tell us that the reopening will be online only. We hear that orders be fulfilled from a facility in Jonesville, SC.
The contest inviting website visitors to enter to win one of 10 gift cards worth $300.00 to spend on fall fashion seems designed to help Sycamore Partners rebuild The Limited’s customer lists. If you liked The Limited and mourned its passing, then watch this space. We’ll be reporting on this story as it develops.
Sycamore Partners owns many apparel and fashion brands including Talbots, Jones New York, Belk’s, Coldwater Creek,NINE WEST and Stuart Weitzman. It will be interesting to see what they do with The Limited.
