Cyber Monday beckons  shoppers with the combination of comfort & deals

Let’s talk savvy shopping!  I’m a big lover of Cyber Monday shopping.  The Cyber Monday Deals coming this week promise  pure relaxation and comfort. I’m tired of the lines and the pushing and shoving in store on Black Friday.  Give me a good Cyber Monday deal any day.  Some of you might prefer going in store to personally see & touch goods, but I’m all about shopping in my PJs, late at night or early in the morning and getting my deals. The only hazard is the retailer’s website uptime.   On Black Friday the Kohl’s website crashed shortly after midnight leaving many Black Friday shoppers unable to complete their purchases.  A look at Internet search figures show that electronics and tech deals are still top of mind for consumers when it comes to Cyber Monday with the majority of  consumers looking for deals at Best Buy (157% more searches than the next), Wal-Mart, Amazon and Target.  Over those, Amazon is the only 100% cyber store without a brick and mortar component. Here are a few top picks.

Big Box Retail Stores

JCPenney online, enjoy “free shipping, no minimum, no code” on Cyber Monday. Look for savings on their new designers Lulu Guinness and Jenny Packham.

Target: Over at Target.com, there is a Cyber Monday sale that will last all week. I hope they have increased their website traffic capacity, so they don’t crash if they get too many orders. Deals include the typical electronic fare: TVs, cameras, video games, kids toys and cosmetics.  Among the deals announced so far are: Buy-one-get-one-half price on selected video games,  25 % off on all Dyson Vacuums and an Acer Aspire One 10.1″ Netbook for $199.99 (Monday only.) There will also be $50 Target gift card giveaways on purchases including a Motorola Digital Baby Monitor and a KitchenAid Professional 6-Qt Stand Mixer.

Macy’s: The Cyber Monday deals are already online. Look for free shipping on orders of $75 or more when you enter code CYBER at checkout (excludes offer excludes furniture, mattresses and rugs). Look for a special buy-one-get-one-free on selected women’s sweaters and boots; 50per cent off selected handbags; up to 70per cent off comforters. If you’re the cook of the house, you might want to snap up the special offer on a Cuisinart 8-cup food processor for $69.99.  If you need new luggage look for special on the Travelpro Highlite three-piece luggages set at $139.99.

Kohl’s:  Get 20% off at Kohl’s AND free standard shipping when you enter code CYBER20 at checkout until Nov. 27th.  There are already over 300 deals listed online and for Kohl’s shoppers Cyber Monday will last until Dec.1.  Look for some of the sparkly tops from the JLo collection on sale, although warning, the stuff is cheap and won’t last.  Your money might be better spent on toys, jewelry, household items and electronics.  The best fashion deal at Kohl’s is Narcisco Rodriguez.  The quality is good and the material and manufacturing is surprisingly good.  Another fashion deal is the Apt. 9 Cashmere Sweaters. Check the Kohl’s Facebook and Twitter profiles for sale updates. If you shop in store at Kohl’s this month instead of online, there is one advantage.  If you shop from now until Dec. 24th, you can enter your shopping receipt into a giveaway.
