The Noon by Noor Poppy Bow Dress

Despite snow, slush and high winds, New York Fashion Week went out today. One of the highlights for me was the Noon by Noor show. The show was simply produced by People’s Revolution and the comfortable styles were shown off to great effects.  Designers Noor Rashid Al Khalifa and Haya Mohammed Al Khalifa presented comfortable fall wear heavy on cranberry and deep blues.  The collection ranged from casual wear to some stunning gowns.  The red gown (above) with drop waist, bow and poppy print silk was Oscar worthy.

The Santa Noon by Noor ensemble features a vintage looking pinafore dress.

There were also some charming pieces like the “Santa” look (see above. )  This look was very vintage looking to me,  offering  whimsical touches like the green wool pinafore dress (above) with the bee embroidery and cream light blue blouse accented with a wool knit beanie.  The outfit was accented with cranberry tights.  The color palette for this collection features cranberry, navy, grey, green, burgundy and red, fitting colors for fall.

Four different looks from the Noon by Noor Fall 2013 collection

If you haven’t heard of Noon by Noor, the designers describe themselves as Noon By Noor,  “a high-end ready-to-wear fashion label that caters to women who have an eye for elegance and chic design.”   The clothes balance traditional and modern styles.  For Fall 2013,  I saw a lot of vintage inspiration in the 1930s style wool beanies and the bow blouses.  The checkered blazers, straight paints, cashmere sweaters and princess coats that Noon by Noor showed for Fall 2013 are investment pieces that could be worn for years, from work to evening.   There’s nothing trendy or over the top about this collection, just solid pieces that look like they will stand  the  test of time.
