After 93 years, Loehmann’s Discounted Fashion Chain is Closed.

Since being quote in today’s The New York Times about my fond memories of Loehmann’s stores, I’m getting some emails from new and regular readers asking a big question.  Are all the stores officially closed?  It’s a good question. Although  I checked with two stores in California ( Beverly Hills and Orange County) and mid-March was given as the closing date, it appears that is no longer valid.  All 39 stores are now officially closed.   It really is the end of a shopping era.   Fashion lovers who love a deal must now turn to stores like Nordstrom Rack, Neiman Marcus Last Call, Saks Off 5th and occasionally TJ Maxx or Marshall’s.
