Asian Cashew Chicken Salad

Wendy’s new Asian Cashew Chicken Salad

Last week before the  LuckyFabb conference in Los Angeles, I was invited to a special beauty event.  The Blow Me Away  salon in West Hollywood on 3rd Street invited LuckyFabb bloggers in for a shampoo, blow-out and styling inspired by Wendy’s new salad menu.  The salon gave me a fantastic blow dry, straightening my naturally curly hair. While at the salon,  I got to try Wendy’s new Asian Cashew Chicken Salad. The new salad is a great healthy and affordable food choice.  The fresh ingredients–including edamame- are not typical fast food fare.  For those of you who know me, like most women, I am always trying to diet.   The Wendy’s Asian Cashew Chicken Salad, with 380 Calories. 6.0 Fiber and  36.0 Protein,  is a great option when you need to get a quick meal that has protein and is low cal.  The salad is full of delicious zero calorie cucumber slices that provide a nice balance to the spicy edamame topping. A half portion size of the salad is also available for 220 calories.  I ate the salad without the dressing or the cashew packet for a further calorie reduction.  There’s enough flavor from the grilled chicken to make this salad tasty without adding the extra calories.  The dressing that comes with the salad is a light spicy asian chili vinaigrette that is very subtle with lime, soy sauce and a dash of chili. The Asian Chicken Salad is reasonably priced at  $5.99 for the full size portion. Other salads in Wendy’s salad collection include the new BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad and an Apple Pecan Salad.

It was such a treat to be able to get my hair done and enjoy a healthy lunch at the same time. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced Blow Dry salon, check out the Blow Me Away salon.  Blow Drys are $35.00 and you can have your bangs trimmed for an extra $10.00.   The salon is on LAist’s list of the top ten Blow Dry Salons in LA.  You can see for yourself how great my naturally curly hair looked after they straightened and dried it.
