Father's Day
eBates Survey: What Dad Really Wants for Father’s Day
When I was growing up and shopping for my Dad on Father’s Day, he made it very clear to me that he most emphatically did NOT want shirts, neckties or shoes. “Please don’t’ buy me any clothes, ” he would proclaim before every Father’s Day. But times have changed and a new survey from discount shopping site eBates proclaims that it’s ok to buy Dad clothes this Father’s Day ( June 21, 2015.) According to eBates, Dad will be happy with a Father’s Day gift of Bermuda shorts and, even the once dreaded necktie. How does eBates know this? They did a survey of 1,024 adults (over the age of 18) to ask men what they wanted for Father’s Day 2015. Here’s what’s on top of the list and what you might want to shop for this week.
According to the eBates survey, here’s what Dad really wants you to get him for Father’s Day:
1) Clothing
2) Beer ( yes Dad needs a drink! )
3) Travel (check my blog post on deals at the Mandarin Oriental for Dad-worthy escapes.)
4) New set of Tools
5) Tickets to a Sporting Event
The good news is there’s still a week to shop for Dad and with this information, you have a chance of getting Dad something he might really want. And according to the survey, Dad doesn’t expect you to spend a lot of money on him. 28 percent of those surveyed say that spending $20-$50 for a gift on Father’s Day is enough.
Naturally, eBates has an ulterior motive putting out this data. They’re hoping you might want to shop for a gift for Dad via their shopping portal. Readers, do you know about eBates?
