Coming Up: QVC shoe sale to feature Fergie Footwear + more
Save these dates if you love shoes. QVC is about to put on a fantabulous shoe sale that might even fill the overcrowded Imelda Marcos’s shoe closet. QVC present will “FFANY Shoes on Sale.” What is FFNY? Elementary my dear fashionista, it’s the The Fashion Footwear Association of New York. They were having a big shoe event at the New York Hilton during the BlogHer conference in August, so I got the scoop on this one. So here are the detials. On Oct. 13th QVC and FFANY will feature live in person shoe shopping, plus cocktails at Federick P. Rose Hall at Lincoln Center.
Then on Oct. 15th, the sale will come to the rest of the world, via QVC and their website. The sale will include the newly launched Fergie Footwear brand. Fergie, of The Black Eyed Peas, was just here in LA at Fashion’s Night Out showing off the shoes at Nordstrom’s. The purpose of the QVC sale is to raise funds in the the fight against breast cancer. The Hope shoe, from Fergie’s Fall 2010 collection, pictured below, will be available during the QVC presents “FFANY Shoes on Sale” event benefiting breast cancer research on October 15th.
Fergie’s pink “Hope” shoe retails for $45 (half its original retail price) and 100% of the net proceeds will go to breast cancer research. You can see the style on Nordie’s website listed as the Fergie ‘Tazed’ Platform Pump, retailing for approximately $90.00. Reviewers gave the shoes good marks for style, but noted that they run small. So size up when you buy the half price version. Just my two cents– no one needs “cruel shoes.”
More than 100,000 pairs of shoes, donated by footwear companies, will be sold on QVC at half the retail price, with 100% of the net proceeds going to leading hospitals and research organizations nationwide that are performing cutting edge research and education to find a cure for breast cancer. To date, “Shoes on Sale” has sold more than one million pairs of shoes and donated more than $32.5 million in net proceeds to breast cancer research. So if you need some new shoes, QVC is the place to be on Oct. 15th.
