Celebrate National Coupon Month with Some Savings

So, it’s hard to admit this, but…I had no idea September was National Coupon Month. Sorry folks, it’s not in my Kate Spade Holiday Planner. Good thing I have those Google Alerts. So since it’s National Coupon Month, I have to tell you about some good deals I have found. First, you need to know about RedPlum’s Dash for Deals web page. All month the folks at RedPlum tell me that this page is going to feature exclusive “high-end” deals. That sounds so intriguing. So bookmark this page, and see if there are any daily deals that might appeal to you. Today’s deal is $5.00 magazine subscriptions. Tomorrow, a new deal will be posted, and you have to go to the Dash for Deals page, or subscribe to RedPlum to find out what it.
If you are interested in learning about more deals via the art of “couponing”, then you need to visit and book mark the National Coupon Month website. I find this site fascinating! Because of the economic downturn, couponing and looking for savings is now at an all time peak of interest. Witness the success of The Recessionista with “zero-budget” marketing. Did you know that the first coupon was a handwritten discount for Coca-Cola written in 1886. I’m sure one of my frugal ancestors used it 🙂
During this month of savings, in addition to RedPlum, be sure to visit some of my tried and tested sites for coupon savings:
- Social Buy– Deals on dining out and shopping. If you live in LA, check out the deal for 2 for 1 at the Taste of Beverly Hills. For more deals check Groupon, Bergine, CouponCabin.com and eBates.
- Retailmenot–– Get coupon codes before you buy.
- Sale.com–Find out where all the Labor shopping deals are, and then search for a coupon to “double deal” with.
- 8Coupons– This site posts deals and coupons from readers all over the US. It’s a fantastic resource.
- ShopatHome.com-– This site runs many great deals on beauty products, fashion, restaurants and groceries. Check out their Labor Day Cash Back savings by clicking here.
- Blogs–Check out some of my favorite blogs featuring advice on how to use coupons and codes. I met some of these bloggers at BlogHer, and these are great resources : The Coupon Project , Wicked Cool Deals and Nicole’s Nickels. And of course, do check the mutha of them all, The Frugalista. She offers way more than coupons, she offers advice and hot topics on living lean and mean! And of course, yours truly.
Watch this space, now that I know it’s National Coupon Month, I am on high alert. I’ll be posting great deals and coupons throughout the month (check out the coupon above for Ann Taylor. If you have any favorites, leave a comment and share the savings.
