Former Hermès designer Lemaire Coming to Uniqlo
This is the budget fashion collaboration we never dreamed could happen—former Hermès designer Christophe Lemaire is doing a collaboration with cheap and cheerful retailer Uniqlo. Right? Who would’ve thought you would hear Hermès mentioned in the same sentence as Uniqlo. The full lookbook was released today, and frankly it screams luxury. You’d never think it was going on the racks at Uniqlo. The 30 piece collection is priced from $39.00 to $189.00 for an insane cashmere type robe coat. Look for the collection online on Oct. 2 and in select Uniqlo stores. Here’s what’s on The Recessionista’s pick list. The Cut says this is probably Uniqlo’s best collab ever. Although I loved Ines de la Fressange, this looks amazing!
There are some great dresses in this collaboration. They are so simple and elegant, you can dress them up with great necklace for evening or wear them to work and still look very professional. The dresses range from $59.00 (the teal/green dress in the middle) to $129.00 for the red cashmere dress.
The long lean jackets from the collection are great toppers as the weather turns colder. Our favorite piece, based on the pictures, is the white top and long skirt in merino wool. The top and skirt are each priced at $49.90. There’s something so striking about this elegant winter white.
Look for these pieces at Uniqlo 5th Avenue and 34th St. stores in New York and well as other Uniqlo select stores. Uniqlo just gave Balmain for H&M a run for the money, and I’m guessing there will be more inventory at Uniqlo than there will be at H&M.
