Tomorrow, Dec. 5th, 2011, is the grand opening of the online Valentino Museum. I can’t wait to visit this online digital display showing off 50 years of the famed fashion house’s creations. I own one Valentino dress (purchased on sale from the Outnet.com) and nothing else in my closet fits quite like it. The flow of the garment, the way it moves, the draping, all of it is simply stunning. Valentino was an amazing designer and if you saw any of the movie “The Last Emperor“, then you know what an artist Valentino was. He dressed Sophia Loren, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Elizabeth Taylor. His designs for them will be one of the highlights of the online museum.

The museum is the creation of designer Valentino Garavani and his business partner Giancarlo Giammetti. If you’re interested in learning more, the two partners will debut the museum online with a press conference that will be live streamed at Youtube.com/valentinomuseum 11 am EST/ 8 am PST on Monday, Dec. 5th. What a great way to start the day. The museum and it’s show of Valentino’s exquisite creations will be free and open to all via the magic of the Internet. According to the Museum’s press materials, “The virtual museum is a downloadable desktop application connected to an online database that uses a real time 3D technology to create an immersive environment. It includes over 5,000 images of dresses, illustrations and photographs as well as 95 fashion show videos. The museum will be available for download on December 5, 2011 at http://valentino-garavani-archives.org” I can’t wait to check it out and enjoy. How about you?
