Grammy Style: Kelly Osbourne and Norah Jones Looked Smashing

If you watched the Grammy Awards tonight, then you know that there were not a lot of fashion winners at the awards.  In general the Grammys are not know for great style, but there were a few standouts.  Let’s start with Kelly Osbourne.  She looked amazing in a lavender Tadashi Shoji cocktail dress. Kelly has blossomed into a beautiful blonde and I love her style transformation.  Her dress was made of  crinkled silk chiffon hand cut floral one shoulder dress with ribbon waist from Tadashi Shoji’s Spring 2011 Collection.   Other fashion highlights of the evening including Norah Jones sporting a Louise Brooks type bob and an Audrey Hepburnesque one shoulder black dress by Theia Couture with full  “puff” skirt. Martina McBride looked elegant in an elegant midnight blue Catherine Malandrino gown. The guys from British Band Mumford & Sons looked fantastic in Burberry.

More noticeable than the handful of tasteful gowns and dresses, were the fashion atrocities.  Cee-Lo appeared as cross between the 1970s attired Elton John and Big Bird of Sesame Street. Lady Gaga modeled a strange set of pointed shoulders that I was informed were actually supposed to be flesh colored horns. Finally, there was Mick Jagger channeling the Blue Brothers. He sounded great and proved he was still “Jump’in Jack Flash.” But I don’t know what he was wearing. Many folks on Twitter speculated that his fashion choice may have been Gap kids. If it was, it was Stella McCartney for Gap kids. Bottom line, the Grammys is about music, not fashion. It’s not New York Fashion Week, but a great concert with a few awards sprinkled in.
