If you’re looking for Halloween fashion, or if you just love the Batman films, Forever21 has some clothing items for you.  On Sept. 27th Forever21 is launching a new collection called “Bats and Cats.”  The collection features 63 current pieces modeled by Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor, model, DJ and daughter of Duran Duran bassist John Taylor and Amanda de Cadenet.   Look for cat women worthy faux fur coats, knitwear, cat-eye sunglasses plus authentic pieces in collaboration with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, for a comic-chic spin that ranges from Batman logo caps, catty accessories, plus Batman and Catwoman-inspired apparel for women and Batman-inspired apparel for men.

“We have been enthralled with the animal emergence and took to cats, epitomizing a soft femininity and bats, symbolizing our desire for nocturnal nonconformity for an updated approach to the trend,” said Betsy Zanjani, Forever 21 SVP of Product Design. “This limited-edition line will allow our customers to discover unique and contemporary merchandise with a nostalgic charm of bats, cats and the iconic Super Heroes of Gotham City.”

Sounds batty to me.   Once again movie marketing spawns a “fashion collection.”   I’ll be interested to see this one.  Sounds purr-fect for Halloween, but I don’t know about its consumer appeals after Halloween passes.  Look for consumer events at select Forever21 stores to launch this collection.   Some stores (like Irvine Spectrum) are offering complimentary Cat-Eye Applications at an in-store Beauty Bar and Bats & Cats Collection Inspired Manis with a purchase of $50 or more!
