Karen Kane's Spring 2014

Contrast dress from Karen Kane’s Spring 2014 collection

Los Angeles designer Karen Kane’s new Spring 2014 collection is full of comfortable and stylish American classic.  I recently got to sample some pieces from the collection (including the striped dress above) and the collection is so stylish and flattering that it’s easy to love.   The designer gifted me with the best-selling contrast panel stripe dress (priced at $168)  for the LuckyFabb conference.   With it’s navy blue solid side panels and striped nautical theme, this dress fits like a dream.  I’m not exaggerating.   The dress is very slimming because of those well designed side panels, that create an optical illusion of a straight line skimming your curves and slimming the hips.  This cute little red, white and blue number is “Made in America”  as are all of Karen Kane’s designs.

Other highlights from Karen Kane Spring that  you’ll want to check out are the Julie Maxi dress and the many lace overlay cocktail dresses.   The v-neck lace dress, similar to a style worn by Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge is now on sale for under $100.00.  The Julie Maxi dress is a great style for all seasons (pictured above) has an elongated v-neck style that is designed to slim the body.  This dress has been a best-seller for designer Karen Kane over many seasons and it’s easy to see why.  You can wear this to work with a jacket, after work  for dinner and for stylish weekend wear.  It’s a great “go to” dress.

Neptune Dress Karen Kane

Deal: The Neptune Dress for $29.50.

In a noisy fashion world, it’s easy to overlook Karen Kane’s well manufactured and well constructed designs.  You may not see as many ads for this designer as there are for other name brands in publications like Vogue or Glamour, but the quality is there and the garments are well priced.   The rayon/spandex fabrication of the dresses makes them perfect for all day wear and for travel. They pack easily and don’t wrinkle.  For a steal of a deal, check out the sapphire Neptune dress with contrasting black panels now on final sale for $29.50 (I bought this.)  You couldn’t make a dress of this quality for under $30.00.  The style is similar to the “optical illusion” dresses by name brand designers that cost hundreds of dollars.

Although I received a Karen Kane dress for LuckyFabb, that’s not the reason I’m writing about Karen Kane. Over the years, I’ve purchased many Karen Kane garments.  It’s a brand I believe offers great consumer value as well as style.  Even better, Karen Kane employs American workers and creates jobs.  It’s great to see a Los Angeles based designer producing such accessible and affordable garments in both regular and plus-sizes.  The Karen Kane company’s design, screen printing, research, pattern making, cutting, shipping, production, and customer service departments are all based in Los Angeles.  If you’re interested in shopping Karen Kane’s Spring 2014 collection use promo code AMERICANA to save on shipping at KarenKane.com for a limited time.  You can also shop the collection in store at Macy’s, Dillards, Nordstrom, Belks and Lord & Taylor stores.  For reduced prices on Karen Kane, check out the Karen Kane outlet store at the Camarillo outlets near Los Angeles.
