Meghan Markle Style: Her Debut Sends British Handbag & Fashion Sales Soaring
Last week Britain’s Prince Harry announced his engagement to the beautiful American Actress Meghan Markle. The fashion world and consumers have already fallen in love with Ms. Markle’s fashion choices.
For her engagement announcement photos, Ms. Markle wore an ivory coat from Toronto brand Line the Label which is already sold-out. Similar styles of the emerald green dress she wore under the coat by Italian label Paolo Rossello have limited availability, but you can find a similar colored dresses for the holidays everywhere from Neiman Marcus to H&M.
You can find versions of her Line the Label Ivory wrap coat from Ralph Lauren and others. See our picks below.
For a recent engagement with Prince Harry, Meghan wore a navy coat from Mackage and carried the distinctive Scottish Strathberry bag with its vintage styled music scroll.
Many retailers offer styles similar to her Mackage navy blue coat. If you can afford it, Mackage is accepting pre-orders for their ELODIE navy double breasted coat, priced at $750. 00 USD.
If the Mackage coat is too pricey for you, look for similar styles from ASOS, H&M and Dillard’s for a fraction of the cost.
Ms. Markle’s Strathberry handbag sent fashion editors and handbag lovers to learn more about the elegant Scottish line of handbags. The Strathberry tote with it’s scroll bar was sent to Ms. Markle as a gift from Leeanne Hundleby, owner and co-creator of the Strathberry bags. Ms. Hundleby had hoped that Ms. Markle would carry the bag, but was shocked when she did on a recent appearance with Prince Harry. When Meghan was spotted with the handbag, the Strathberry tri-colour leather midi tote priced at £495 immediately sold out. Like Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, Meghan Markle has a classic style and grace that women will want to emulate.
While Strathberry recovers from the “Meghan effect” and restocks their bags, fashionistas looking for a similar style may wish to check out the beautiful handbags from Jardine of London, which also feature a music bar style scroll.
Here’s hoping that the Meghan effect continues. She has great style and we can’t wait to see what she wears for her next public engagement. Perhaps and Erdem coat and a Jardine of London handbag? Something tells me that we won’t see her stepping out in Zara or Topshop anytime soon.
