Yesterday I had the pleasure of seeing the Spring Rebecca Taylor show live on the runway at NYFW.  It was an amazing show, very light and feminine.  I’m still wondering about the neon yellow on one of the dresses, but overall, I loved the show.  The show was classic Rebecca Taylor style:  contemporary, fresh, and ethereal.  The collection emphasized cut and color with unexpected cut-outs in silhouettes.  Neutral shades of oyster were highlighted by bold citrus colors of lemon, lime and tangerine.  There were cropped slouchy embellished sweaters, long skirts and voluminous outerwear in technical fabrics. Finally, there were some “edgy” while apron back dresses mixed with bone colored snake leather bibs. This was undoubtedly meant to inject a paired down cool attitude.
Despite all the sparkle on the runway, the designer stepped out for her final bow in a lovely ivory Victorian Lace shirt that was subtly low key.  I need to find that shirt for my personal collection ! 🙂
