There were no recessionistas on the Oscar red carpet this year, no H&M dresses or off-the rack.  It was all about haute couture and Cate Blanchett owned it in Armani Prive.  It looks like Armani customized an illusion sheath dress from their Fall 2013 collection for the actress.   We asked Armani about this gorgeous dress.  They shared these  details.   Ms. Blanchett “wore a soft gold-color gown. The romantic cap-sleeve dress featured a long, flared tulle skirt with crinoline edging, fully embroidered with raised dégradé sequins and light gold Swarovski crystal baguettes.  Talk about class.  Trends on this year’s red carpet included the glittering nude metallic look epitomized by Ms. Blanchett, pastels and lots of midnight blue (Amy Adams in Gucci and Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen.)
