Oscar Gifting: Bergman’s Style Lounge Fashion & Beauty Finds
Last week I got to experience one of the most well-known Oscar gifting suites in Hollywood: Bergman’s Style Lounge and Party to honor the 88 Annual Academy Awards at the Fig & Olive restaurant. The event celebrates products and services to help get attendees Oscar ready from luxury racing cars to beauty essentials and fashions. The invitation-only event was hosted by The Auto Gallery and presented by Maserati and The Center For Aesthetic Dentistry. So what did I see at this insider only event? There was everything from couture gowns, bespoke tuxedos & suits, beauty, skin & hair care products, stunning jewelry collections, gorgeous accessories, sexy lingerie, fabulous fragrance, fashion-forward footwear, shapewear plus the Maserati Ghibili and a bespoke, advanced McLaren 570S Coupe. One thing I love about these events is the exposure to new discoveries that can help us all look and feel our best. After all, you don’t have to be a celebrity to want to look red carpet ready right?
Following are some of the things that were on the exhibit at the event that I think offer value and that may readers might want to check out.
Samiah Fine Clothing: Samian clothing offer unique, quality vintage styled coats and shirts. One look at these gorgeous coats, and I was in love. The clothing is hand made in the USA and each piece is inspired by vintage designs or film fashion. On display at the Bergman Oscar party were luxurious brocade coats that you could image the characters in the Victorian series Penny Dreadful wearing.
Actor/Singer Frank Stallone was at the Bergman Oscar event and clearly fell in love with one of the blue coats, wearing it proudly at the event and posing for photos in a blue brocade coat. On his Instagram feed, Mr. Stallone said of the coat from Samiah Fine Clothing, ” I bought this coat the second I put it on it radiates positive power. I didn’t realize the silver buttons were lions being a Leo that’s a sign.” I also tried on a long version of the blue brocade coat at the event. The off the rack fit was amazing. These are quality pieces with painstaking hand details and finishing. Prices are under $900.00 US for a coat with quality delivered for the price.
Twisted Silver: Twisted Silver offers unique jewelry made from recycled metals, vintage jewelry and found objects, refashioned into unique necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings. Some of the Twisted Silver jewelry can be styled a few different ways. Above is a Twisted Silver pendant that can be worn on a long chain, or wrapped around to be a shorter choker styled necklace. Look for Twisted Silver on sale online or in select boutiques. Pricing ranges from $25.00 to $200.00.
Arbonne was on hand with their line of skincare products and natural make-up. I like the Arbonne philosophy of natural, organic products that are good for your body and your skin. I didn’t get to try to skincare products, but I received a consultation with the Arbonne make-up expert at the party and got to sample their tinted moisturizer, foundations, blush and lipsticks. The Arbonne make-up is impressive, light and fragrance free, the foundations are in great natural colors and I loved the rich lipsticks. If you’re looking for a good natural make-up line, check out Arbonne. The products offer plant-based formulations, blending the best of science and natural botanicals
Spongelle Beyond Cleansing Bath Products: Spongelle offers Beyond Cleansing Shower Gel Infused Body Buffers. Infusions of exotic extracts, rich moisturizers and gentle cleansers. The bath sponges come in amazing soothing scents like Lavender and Ginger/Bergamot. Look for these relaxing products at Anthropologie with prices starting at $14.00 for a deliciously scented sponge good for 14+ washes.
Other vendors exhibiting at the event included:
Josh Cellars Wine: Delicious, affordable wines.
Azul Imperial Tequila: A smooth light Tequila that even non -Tequila drinkers can enjoy.
Hint Water: These waters are delicately flavored with natural fruit flavors–just a hint to keep them low-calorie.
Couture Gowns & Fragrance by Sue Wong, Fashion designer Sue Wong produces gorgeous beaded gowns in vintage styles perfect for the red carpet or any special occasion.
Art Lewin Bespoke Executive Clothiers: Custom suits, shirts and ties for men.
Single Dress: This affordable line of dresses in made in Los Angeles and looks like more upscale designs by Victoria Beckham at a fraction of the price.
On hand at the event were Oscar Nominees Brionne Davis (“Embrace of the Serpent” Best Foreign Film), Cas Anvar (“Room” Best Picture), Director Evgeny Afineevsky (“Winter On Fire” Best Documentary), Vanessa Cloke (“Spotlight” Best Picture), joined George Chakiris (former Oscar Winner “West Side Story”), former Oscar Nominees Sally Kirkland, Renee Taylor & Joe Bologna, former Golden Globe Nominee Evan Brinkman (“Trainwreck”), former Golden Globe & Grammy Nominee & Frank Stallone (“Stayin’ Alive”), TV Legal Analyst Areva Martin, Multiple Emmy Winners Doris Roberts & Marilu Henner, Maria Conchita Alonso, Naomi Grossman (“American Horror Story”), Robin Givens, Eva La Rue, Ernie Hudson, John Savage, Steven Bauer (“Ray Donovan”), Judy Tenuta, Kelsey Scott (“12 Years A Slave), Adina Porter, Lou Ferrigno, Angela Gots (“Madam Secretary”), Damian Whitewood (“Dancing With The Stars”), Keesha Sharp (“The People vs. O.J. Simpson”), and Robert Carradine were among the celebrities and industry VIPS who were in attendance.
One really great part of this event was the ability each guest had to donate unwrapped gifts for young adults (ages 13-18) for a Ppst-Holiday Gift Drive benefitting ‘Wednesday’s Child’ — a weekly segment airing on KTTV FOX 11 News, Los Angeles, with Anchor Christine Devine. ‘Wednesday’s Child’ highlights ‘harder to place’ children in the LA County foster care system who are in need of adoptive families. “In Los Angeles County, alone, there are over 35,000 children receiving child welfare services,” says social worker, Professor William Wong. Bergman always invites 2 foster children to join in on the festivities and experience what it feels like to be treated as a VIP. I bought a big bag of beauty products and clothing to donate to the foster children and I hope some young girl gets to enjoy them and feel special.
