Preserving Your Most Fashionable Garments: Removing Stains

By  |

The Recessionista’ has received a few questions lately about how to remove stains from your clothes.  We’ve all been the victim of spills, perspiration stains, or even worse inadvertently sitting on something gross.  There’s nothing worse than a spill when you’re wearing a favorite outfit.  I don’t have any magic secrets.  One thing I rely on is Tide stick (note I am not paid a penny by Tide to write about this.)  I actually carry a  Tide stick in my person with me.  It has saved me from a number of disasters, including red wine stains. The other thing I relay on is soda water, and if I am out at a restaurant and have a spill, I’ll ask for some soda water.   If you’re interested in other options for stain removal, check out these tips from Reader’s Digest for using baking soda, lemons and even vinegar to remove stains and perspiration.  As we all know, treating a spill promptly to remove a stain is one of the best ways to preserve your best clothing and fashions.  Just check the label first, if the label says dry clean only, take it to the best dry cleaner you know! Readers, do you have any tips for removing stains from clothing? If so, please share.
