Huffington Post published an interview with photographer Tyler Shields today about his Birkin Chain Saw Massacre photoshoot. It’s pretty silly stuff. Under questioning and prompting from the interviewer Artifino, Shields offered to donate $100,000 USD to one family in need to squelch the public outcry over the burning. Of course, in order to make the donation, Mr. Shields has some conditions, mainly he has to sell his photos. “If somebody wants to buy one of the Birkin photos, I will donate $100,000 — not to a charity — but to a family. I will give one family in need $100,000 cash, tax-free” said Shields. It’ll be interesting to see if that happens. Much more interesting than say a flaming red luxury bag. What do you think readers? Will a family in need really benefit because of this not so fashionable burning at the stake? What a public relations debacle.
