Spring Fling: Los Angeles Designer Rachel Pally’s QVC Collection
Los Angeles designer Rachel Pally recently launched a capsule collection for QVC simply called RP. I don’t know if anyone of you have seen it or ordered from the QVC line, The collection features her trademark maxi designers and cocoon shrugs. This is the first time I’ve seen plus sized clothing or a “budget” labeled collection from Ms. Pally. The one shoulder “rolling waves maxi” dress Ms. Pally designed for her QVC debut just a few weeks ago is already sold out, despite many reviewers expressing the opinion that it was “too long” in length. I saw that dress at the QVC Oscar Buzz Party, and it looked beautiful, but was on a model who was at least 5’10. On that model, it didn’t look too long, but not all women are that model height.
As a long time Rachel Pally fan, and visitor to her sample sales, I had to ask why she decided to partner with QVC for a lower-priced version of her collection. “I decided to work with QVC because it is an amazing opportunity to make my designs accessible to women everywhere.” notes Ms.Pally.” As a designer who prides herself on making clothing to fit every woman, it’s very exciting to be able to reach a broader audience by offering great style at an affordable price point. QVC is an incredible company and I’m proud to be a part of their team!” Some of Ms. Pally’s QVC designs sell for less that $50.00 US. Her signature rayon/spandex maxi dresses are selling briskly for under $100.00 US. All items in the RP collection are labeled “best sellers” on the QVC site.

Recently QVC sent me a sample of the RP Sleeveless Maxi Dress with Tie Waist Bright Pink for evaluation. I have to agree with the other QVC reviewers that the dress runs long, and I will have to shorten it. It is designed for a taller woman, and I am only 5’4. Having said that , this is a great dress. I love the neckline and the fitted wrap waist. It’s so flattering. accenting the waist and then flowing over the hips with a full skirt. This is a perfect spring dress, even suitable for an Easter celebration or special event. I own several Rachel Pally dresses from her boutique line, and this fabric is the same comfortable jersey type fabric and style. No real difference in this QVC product. I wonder if it is made at the same factory? I own a Rachel Pally cocoon shrug from her upscale line, and it looks like the exact sale design as the RP QVC shrug priced at under $50.00.
If you’re a Rachel Pally fan, look for her return to the QVC airwaves on the Lisa Roberts show scheduled for April 20 at 10 PM EST/ 7 PM PST.
