T.J.Maxx and Marshalls Survey: Hottest Swimwear Styles
Are you looking for the perfect swimsuit? Or maybe a swimsuit that is both a good deal and one that flatters your shape? If so, you might be interested in this new survey from T.J.Maxx and Marshalls that spotlights the hottest swimwear styles of 2015 state by state. As we all know, the weather in the US varies widely from state to state, so it makes sense that swimwear styles would too. The top three trends for this summer are halter, sporty and retro styles. Seventy percent of the women surveyed said they would prefer to wear a one piece swimsuit to the beach, rather than a more revealing bikini, tankini or two-piece suite. Here’s how the choice of style varies state by state across the United States.
- Halter, sporty and retro inspired styles made the biggest splash as the top three styles with over 70% of states favoring a one piece.
- Women from New York favor a one piece sporty style in a solid color while women from California love a two piece ruffle suit with a print.
- What do women from Texas, Washington and Illinois all have in common? They prefer retro swim styles such as Norma Kamali’s vintage inspired rouched Bill Mo swimsuit.
- The states where women would wear a two piece suit include coastal states like California, Florida and even Maine. Yes, despite the chilly temperatures of the water off the coast of Maine, women swimming in Maine would still take a swim in a two-piece. That data suprised me just a bit.
If you’re looking for a good deal on a swimsuit this summer, have a look at what’s in over at T.J.Maxx and Marshalls. The two stores (they want you to know readers, they are two separate stores, please that’s uber important to know) recently sent me a $50.00 gift card to go check out their swimwear and they have a good section of retro and one piece swimsuits, with some two piece suits as well. My favorite swimsuits at T.J.Maxx and Marshalls include the Anne Cole and Jantzen one piece swimsuits. I also saw some great retro inspired styles from the brand Shore Shapes at my local store. On their website, the T.J. Maxx even has a Pucci swimsuit for $129.00 reduced from the retail price of $360.00. In addition to swimsuits, the stores also have some striking cover-ups that could even been worn to go from pool to dinner.
