This Week’s Fashion Round Up: Some Events to Help with Father’s Day Shopping

Word up bargain shoppers! Some important events are happening this week around the globe to help make your shopping for Father’s Day a little bit easier and well informed.

First up, if you live in London, you are in for a serious treat. Soccer Superstar David Beckham, formerly of Manchester United and now with the LA Galaxy team, will be making a very personal appearance on June 11th at Selfridges Oxford Street in London to preview the new Emporio Armani Underwear Fall/Winter 2009-10 campaign. Armani is seriously one of the best designers in the world, and I applaud him for doing the lower priced Armani Exchange line (which is having some great sales), but the draw here is to see the gorgeous Beckham in person. I will be sending fellow blogger OOoOO a telegram to let him know. Check with Selfridges ( I love their shopping, including food & wine) for details. The first 270 customers to purchase three pairs of Emporio Armani men’s underwear from Friday 5 June will meet David Beckham in-store at Selfridges Oxford Street on Thursday 11 June. Will this set off an underwear buying frenzy?

In the US, new Clairborne for men designer John Bartlett will be teaming up with Project Runway’s Tim Gunn for a menswear workshop on June 11th in Chicago, IL. The event is entitled, “Building a Wardrobe Workshop” and will show how you can mix and match pieces from the new Clairborne collection to get the most value for your dollar. To get event details, check out the designer’s Facebook page and RSVP. I wish I was going, I’d love to have the opportunity to get style tips from these two, free of charge. Tim is great on Project Runway. He is always encouraging and supportive. John Bartlett is lucky to have Tim out there with him. Hopefully, there will be more of these events around the US. If so, I will post the details here for my readers! There will also be Pop-up shops with “Duds for Dad” in NYC for Clairborne for men .
