Dame Helen Mirren , the 69-yr-old actress is the new face of L’Oreal.

Dame Helen Mirren has been announced as the new face of L’Oreal beauty products. It’s a stunning move for a global brand to chose an older woman in today’s youth obsessed culture to be the face of their brand.  In an era when so many women are obsessed with aging and using fillers and botox, it’s so refreshing to see the natural looking Dame Helen looking gorgeous and natural in the photos L’Oreal has released.  I’ve reviewed L’Oreal products here on The Recessionista and I think their skincare products are affordable and effective.  Their labs have been innovative in developing Retinol products for anti-aging.  Dame Helen is a great choice for any ad campaign, she’s a great role model, someone who looks good, but isn’t altering her appearance dramatically as she ages.

‘I am not gorgeous and I never was, but I was always OK looking and I’m keen to stay that way,’ she says.  ‘I have always loved the L’Oreal Paris brand, and I hope I can inspire other women towards greater confidence by making the most of their natural good looks. We are all worth it!’

In the words of Daily Mail editor Elsa Mcalonan,  on Dame Helen’s L’Oreal photo shoot. ” She looks amazing – the make-up is natural, her hair has plenty of volume and, best of all, these pictures don’t look as if they have been airbrushed.”
