Black Halo Celebrates their Jackie O Dress with a Limited Edition

The Black Halo  fashion label is perhaps best known for a a single piece – the “Jackie O” dress.  Is the dress named after Jacqueline Onassis?  The divine Jackie Onassis doesn’t appear to be the inspiration behind the classy dress, but it does look like something she might wear.  The inspiration for the dress came from designer Laurel Berman’s frustration with her camisole coming untucked from her favorite pencil skirt when she moved. How to solve the problem? Stitch the two pieces together into a one piece dress so that everything stayed in place.  That’s how the Jackie O dress was born.

Ten years later, Black Halo has announced the launch of the limited edition Jackie O Ten Year Anniversary Collection. Black Halo’s Creative Director Laurel Berman has designed a special capsule collection mixing the original Jackie O design with new fabrications and updated looks like a Jackie O romper.  The limited edition collection is freshly rendered in literally a whiter shade of pale, or ivory and off white.

The popularity of the Jackie O dress stems from its ability to enhance a woman’s figure. The design is uniquely slimming.
