Get Book Smart with Macy’s and Save on Shopping

By  |

Today Macy’s and Reading Is Fundamental’s (RIF) have launched a summertime fundraiser “Be Book Smart.”  The five-week fundraiser, Be Book Smart, provides an opportunity for Macy’s customers to give $3at their local Macy’s store as a donation to help provide a book for a child in their local community.  In return, Macy’s customers will then receive a $10 coupon off an in-store purchase of $50 or more and one hundred percent of the $3 will go to RIF.   This is a great idea, to help a great cause.  Literacy continues to be a problem, and it’s so important for children to have access to good books.  Books open doors and minds.  As a literary lover, books have taken me to some extraordinary places.  How else can you mentally stroll the moors of Yorkshire via reading the Brontes when you live in the midwest?

What’s worthwhile to spend on a Macy’s? Well, if you get the coupon after your donate to the cause, do check out the Alberta Ferretti collection on sale and the new Calvin Klein Impulse collection.  Both are worthy of you attention.  Also, Macy’s and RIF are hosting a sweepstakes on Facebook to encourage supporters to share the Be Book Smart campaign with friends. Each week, one winner will be awarded a $500 Macy’s gift card. For official rules and to enter the sweepstakes, visit facebook.com/macys or rif.org/sweeps. No purchase necessary to enter or win a prize.  If you’re a lover of the free like me, you’ll definitely want to take your chances.
