Best July 4th Sales: Fashion, Beauty, Shoes and Handbags

There are many sales going on this weekend for the Fourth of July.  Generally, it seems like any American holiday becomes an excuse for retailers to have a sale. Take a careful look at sale prices this year as consumer spending is spiking after months of shoppers staying home during the COVID-19 epidemic. According to CNN Business, “Consumer demand for new wardrobes is soaring thanks to stimulus checks and pent-up demand built during the pandemic. But supply chain bottlenecks and slowdowns at key ports around the globe have tightened brands’ inventories.”  This has lead to brands and retailers offering few sales, stocking fewer items and selling what they do have at retail prices.  For example, Target is now selling a $188.00 dress from NIC+ ZOE on their website!  They are selling apparel from the brand at prices over $100 and close to $200. Most surprisingly, some of the NIC + ZOE offered via Target is already selling out, even at the higher price point. The face of retail is definitely changing as the economy picks of.

If you head to the malls or stores that are open, please wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines to be safe.  I’m doing my most of my shopping online only  this year.  After taking a look around the web and at the store circulars here’s our aggregated list of the best sales on The Recessionista’s Radar for July 4th, 2021.

Retailers are offering deep discounts this week to lure customers into buying.

One thing we like this weekend, are the sales on quality high-end designers that you can find at the Outnet, Net-A-Porter, Neiman Marcus, Last Call and Saks Fifth Avenue.   We’re not as high on outlet deals  or TJ Maxx and Marshalls as we often find them to just be using the designer’s name  ( via a licensing agreement) rather than offering consistent name brand, quality goods.

Net-A-Porter:  The Net-A-Porter summer clearance sale may be the chicest of all the bargains we’ve seen this season.  Some of the items are now as much as 80% off of retail.   That’s a great deals when you consider some of the brands at this sale includes designers like Alexander McQueen, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Altuzarra, Burberry Stella McCartney and Chloe.   The sale includes apparel, handbags, lingerie, shoes and jewelry.  There are also some unique offerings like the exclusive collection by UK fashion brand Needle and Thread.  If you’re looking to treat yourself to a quality designer item, then get over to the Net-A-Porter summer clearance sale before it’s all gone.  The site also offers some great beauty brands so check those out too!
