New Designers Coming to JC Penney including: Jenny Packham, Vivienne Tam & Lulu Guinness

My fellow fashion blogger, the fab Budget Babe reports that some top designers are bringing low priced versions of their fashions to JC Penney in November 2012, just in time for Christmas shopping.  This is good news for those of us who love fashion, but are on a bduget. The new JCP designers are some of the fashion business’s top names: Jenny Packham, Vivienne Tam & Lulu Guinness.  From the photos that have been posted on The Budget Babe, this looks like a holidays accessories collection.  I don’t have any details yet on products or pricing, but when I do, I will pass them on.  British designer Jenny Packham is known for her elegant  and very feminine dresses that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge has worn on many red carpets.  Her fashions are swoon worthy and of course pricey.  Lulu Guinness is well know for her gorgeous and whimsical handbags with phrases like “Put on your pearls girls.”  And of course, there’s Vivienne Tam who I think of as the perfect blend of comfort and chinois style.  I’m still lusting for the Butterfly notebook she designed.

Bringing these design superstars to JC Penney is a major coup for the retailer.  Especially amid their mixed financial reports this year.  The marketing and brand teams at JC Penney are definitely stepping up their A game.  Not only are new designer collections coming in, but JCP has signed Project Runway judge Nina Garcia to be their resident fashion expert.  Nina once did this type of work for Target. Ms. Garcia’s style advice will be made available to consumers nationwide through a variety of in-store displays, digital initiatives and social media chats throughout the year. The brand is also giving the Shops at Target a run for their money by bringing in new debut brands shops into the store.  They new shops include: Liz Claiborne, IZOD and jcp a new JC Penney exclusive brand dedicated to high-quality fashion basics. These new fall shops will add to  JCP’s existing portfolio of Shops which include Levi’s, The Original Arizona Jean Co., i jeans by Buffalo, MNG by Mango and Sephora.
