Bringing up Beckham: Romeo Beckham Models for Burberry
It’s a fact that celebrites sells fashion. But what about a 10-year-old child of celebrities? Never fear retailers, Romeo Beckham is here! The 10 year old son of soccer superstar David Beckham and pop-star turned designer Victoria Beckham has scored a modeling contract with Burberry. The new Burberry campaign features many familiar Burberry faces modeling the attitude of the Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Romeo and Max Rendell are the new faces joining Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell, Charlotte Wiggins, Charlie France and Alex Dunstan in the campaign. Despite these well-known names, Romeo Beckham provoked the most press and social media attention. For most of the day, Romeo was a trending topic on Twitter. Fashion magazines and blogs sent multiple Tweets announcing Romeo as the face of Burberry’s latest campaign. He seemed to score almost as many Tweets as his father did for wearing H&M underwear and tattoos. I have to give it up to Romeo, he looks very cute in the ads.
Meanwhile, Kate Moss debuted in a new campaign for Spring 2013 from Stuart Weitzman also photographed by Mario Testino (who did the Burberry campaign.) Despite some provocative posed, Kate didn’t peak anywhere near the interest young Beckham did. I mean seriously, how many more teasing crotch shots does the fashion world need?
