The Recessionista Reviews Thakoon for Kohl’s
I stopped by Kohl’s to check out the Thakoon for Kohl’s collection was disappointed. Drab, unimaginative and frumpy–that’s the Thakoon for Kohl’s collection. This collection is like Disney land souvenirs meet London. It’s like someone in Kohl’s merchandising thought it would be cute to put a Kohl’s spin on the type of souvenir merchandise Harrods stocks to promote the charms of London. Thakoon for Kohl’s offers sweaters, tees and scarves with London attractions and emblems like double decker buses, crowns and bowler hats. Sadly, these London branded items aren’t attractive. They look cheap not chic. The floral print shirts are like a poor man’s Liberty of London. It’s sad to see a designer the caliber of Thakoon reduced to this. The best piece in the collection is the Thakoon for DesigNation Cable-Knit Flyaway Cardigan – Women’s (priced at $58.50) which is a dead ringer for the Thakoon Addition Fringe Drape Front Cardigan (priced at $550.00.)
Bottom line, Thakoon for Kohl’s isn’t my cup of tea. It’s not a collection I would want to invest my hard-earned dollars in. For English style, I would go for Burberry or Ted Baker at Last Call, eBay or the Nordstrom sale. You can also buy Liberty of London at Nordstrom. What do you think readers? Have you seen Thakoon for Kohl’s yet? If you have, let me know your thoughts in the comments.
