Think Pink: Designer Shirts and Beauty Products to Benefit Breast Cancer Research
In case you haven’t heard, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Many designers and makers of beauty products are coming together to raise awareness with special products to benefit the cause. This year marks the 20th anniversary Key to the Cure T-shirt. To celebrate, Carolina Herrera has designed a very special short sleeved T-shirt for Saks Fifth Ave.
The white crew neck cotton tee features a vibrant poppy print. Breast Cancer Survivor actress Julie Louis Dreyfus is the brand ambassador for this year’s campaign. “Saks Fifth Avenue asked if I wanted to be their Key to the Cure ambassador, and it seemed like a good fit and the timing worked out well,” the actress told In-Style magazine.
For the month of October, 100% of sales from KTTC T-shirts sold at all Saks Fifth Avenue stores and Saks.com will be donated to AiRS Foundation, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $250,000. I love the feminine poppies in red and pink shirt with the message to find the cure. Even better than the amazing design, 100% of the price of the shirt, $35.00 US, will go to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
If you’re in the market for some new lipsticks, or beauty products, check out Estée Lauder’s “Think Pink” package of beauty products and crystal studded pink ribbon pin. Estée Lauder will donate $500,000 US in proceeds from it’s “Pink Ribbon Collection” to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
This month (on September 24th) marks the anniversary of Linda McCartney’s birthday. She is definitely gone too soon because of breast cancer. Don’t forget Lady Linda. It’s very important to stay vigilant and take charge of your health until a cure is found. Remember to get your annual check-up and mammogram.
