L’Wren Scott will collaborate with Banana Republic for a 2013 Holiday Collection

Luxury designer L’Wren Scott has announced that she is partnering with Banana Republic for holiday collection.  According to The Huffington Post, the designer has described the collection as  “modern collegiate.”   I actually think that’s an oxymoron for L’Wren Scott.  Her clothing has always exemplified luxury.   The collection will be in Banana Republic stores and online in December.  Ms. Scott is best known for her signature sheath dresses and form fittingly tailored jeans. Our spies tell us the L’Wren Scott for Banana Republic collection will consist of  50-pieces including her body conscious dresses along and printed pants.

Although L’Wren Scott has been a staple on the red carpet for years, the designer gained mass media exposure when she began dating Rolling Stone Mick Jagger.   I wonder if we’ll see pictures of Jagger’s beautiful daughters Jade and Georgia Mae turning up soon in the press wearing L’Wren Scott for Banana  Republic? After all , celebrity sells and there is no better fashion tie in than celebrity fashion sightings, right? L’Wren Scott is worn by actresses Nicole Kidman and Ellen Barkin.  Both stars have been sighted in the designer’s “Headmistress Dress.” Here’s hoping the Banana Republic collection features a low-priced version of that simply stunning frock. Prices for the collection are expected to range from $39.50 to $198.  Here’s a look at one of the preview sketches that Banana Republic has shared.
