Banana Republic has been marketing fashions “curated” by actress Olivia Palermo since last Spring, but today they launched an exclusive collection with the actress during New York Fashion Week.   The 70 piece collection was shown in a presentation at the Banana Republic store in the Flatiron district.  Both customers and press were welcomed into the store to meet the actress and see the collection.

So how does the collection look?  The Banana Republic x Olivia Palermo line is all about classics, you’ll find nothing edgy or over the top here.   The style of the collaboration is consistent with the sophisticated style of the actress, which made her a fashion darling.

“We’re taking classic pieces and elevating and putting a nice touch and spin onto it,” said Ms. Palermo speaking of the collection.  The collection features everyday statement pieces with military details and bohemian accents,  paisley prints and pussy-bow tie dresses.  There are trendy bell sleeve sweater tops, a price snake skin effect coat ($998 US), trench coats and bomber jackets. The brocade military coat is like a poor man’s Balmain jacket.

Overall , this is a very pretty “seasonless” collection priced from $48.00 to $1,000 US.  With the Gap/ Banana Republic chain faltering and closing stores, the Banana Republic x Olivia Palermo collection offers customers a new reason to shop at Banana Republic.   See below for some of our collection favorites:
