Banana Republic Previews ISSA Recessionista Style

KATE ISSA

Banana Republic’s ISSA collection will feature a reproduction of the famous ISSA dress worn by Kate Middleton.

I’ve been waiting to find out what the ISSA Banana Republic collaboration would be like and now the first preview is here.  Banana Republic is making a budget royal recessionista version of Kate Middleton’s sapphire ISSA dress.  This is a dress that the world fell in love with. The dress was a sell out in 2010 when Kate, now the Duchess of Cambridge wore it. The Banana Republic dress is priced at $130.00.  The limited-edition capsule collection will debut in stores and online August 8, 2013. The nearly 40-piece collection includes apparel and accessories in Issa London’s signature figure flattering silhouettes. Here’s what you can expect.

The collection will feature ISSA’s trademark  romantic colors and elegant draping.  Look for lots of safari chic, pairing bold prints with feminine silhouettes for a versatile head-to-toe look.  There will also be coordinating accessories including statement jewelry and leather goods. My spies tell me that the collection will feature zebra print kimono-sleeved dresses and  leather envelope clutches. The ISSA BR Jewelry will include statement gold chain necklaces and bracelets as well as leather wrapped bangles. I’m hoping for some great British styled handbags fit for a Princess. 🙂   As for pricing, here are the details:

o   Apparel includes petites and pieces range from $69.50 – $150.00

o   Accessory pieces range from $39.50 – $150.00

What do you think readers? Excited for  ISSA for Banana Republic ?  I predict a sale out of Kate Middleton’s ISSA all over again, this time with a much cheaper price tag.
