Burberry and Lily James Launch Holiday Campaign at Harrods
Last week Burberry and Harrods unveiled a holiday campaign (and retail collection) in the form of store front windows and a special Christmas theme at iconic British retailer Harrods. We love looking at the pictures of this “Very British Fairy Tale ” from these British brands. In the wake of Brexit, with the exchange rate for the US dollar better than ever this gorgeous holiday display is sure to lure Americans as well as European and British visitors to Harrods.
Highlights of the store display include the 29 windows on Brompton Road, displaying the story of two children on an enchanting adventure through a snow-swept English country house, complete with flying cars, floating bathtubs and secret passageways. There’s also a new sensory window, where visitors to Harrods can, through the use of a touch trigger mechanic and motion sensor, experiment with the lighting and music composed specifically for the display, bringing the tale to life. Through the use of technology, viewers can immerse themselves in the display features, not just observe it. Online visitors can take part by creating a personalized film with music on the Harrods website.
Other highlights of the display include the first ever Harrods Christmas tree on Hans Crescent. The tree, which was designed by Burberry, is situated outside the store’s brand new Door 5 Grand Entrance.
Within the Harrods store, shoppers will find an exclusive collection designed by Burberry, including limited-edition ready-to-wear, accessories and gifts, all are featured in the window. Actress Lily James wore a gorgeous white bell sleeve Burbery cashmere coat and black lace midi dress from the exclusive Harrods Burberry collection for the special event. (Harrods ships to the US and many other countries from their website.)
If you’re in London, the window displays for A Very British Fairy Tale at Harrods can be seen November 3 to December 27, 2016.
