Seasoned fashion designer Elie Tahari put on a classy runway show at last weekend’s Beverly Hills Fashion Festival (BHFF.) Although Tahari is a luxury brand, you can always find some of last season’s looks at discounters like Loehmann’s, eBay, and sales at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Saks.  I’ve always liked Tahari because the clothes are well made, fabrics are luxurious and the styles are classic enough to last for years.

Tahari’s show at the Beverly Hills show was full of basic black, holiday gold-ones and winter white.  There were no bold colors, or splashy prints. The accents came from jewelry, sequins, embellishments and lace overlays, but not anything too flashy.  The overall effect was understated elegance.

Looking at the images from Tahari’s show, you can see why he has fashion staying power.  Tahari has been a popular designer since the 1970s. I’m really glad he graced BHFF with his designs. The elegance of his show was a marked contrast to some of the missteps at LA Fashion Weak, er I mean LA Fashion Week. 🙂

When you take a look at the final walk from the show (see above), you realize how many different spins Tahari was able to put on the classic Little Black Dress.  I didn’t think any of them were boring or too staid, conservative maybe, but no one will be accused of fashion disaster in an Elie Tahari.  None of what was shown is in stores yet.  But, look for some similar sheath dresses by Tahari on sale at reduced prices now at the Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly sale. Shopping Club RueLaLa is also offering Elie Tahari for less. Use my invite (sponsored) to join and shop.  Remember, there’s always a way to get the best for less!
