The M Steves Beauty Product line, featuring Rose Hip Seed Oil

In 2011, I wrote about M Steves gorgeous Rose Hip Seed Oil (RHSO)  for skincare and anti-aging.  Since then I’ve been using her organic skincare line on my skin.  I’m still in love with the  RSHO oil, but I also love the Purifying Cleanser which is sulfate free and smells like Oranges because it’s packed with nourishing  Fruit Extracts.   Now M Steves  founder has opened an adorable “Beauty Cottage” in Venice, CA off Abbott Kinney to provide customers with facial treatments, eyebrow threading and other natural beauty products.  I had the opportunity to visit the Beauty Cottage to get a facial two weeks ago, and I can tell you that if you live in Los Angeles or if you are visiting, the Beauty Cottage is a delicious treat for your skin.

Inside the M Steves Beauty Cottage

Set back on Venice Boulevard next to the Zinque Bar, M Steves’ Beauty Cottage is a charming retreat near Venice Beach. Every Friday at the Beauty Cottage is “Facial Friday.”  I stopped in for a mini-facial (no extractions or steam) for $50.00.  A full facial with steam and extractions is $100.00.  The mini-facial included a cleansing with the Purifying Cleanser  followed by exfoliation with M Steves’ new Reviving Exfoliator.   This product has just the right amount of “necessary roughness” to scrub off layers of dead skin.   The M Steves Exfoliator is a mask for all skin types.  The products includes the M Steve’s cornerstone ingredient of RHSO (Rose Hip Seed Oil), plus Microdermabrasion crystals, Walnut shell powder, Glycolic acid, Fruit enzymes and Dead sea mud.   The products tingles a little but is not hot like an enzyme or  a Papaya facial.   The esthetician who did the treatment for me was very gentle and checked in with me frequently to see how I felt.   The mask stays on for 5-10 minutes, and then it rinses off.  You can apply the product at home and use a Konjac Sponge to maximize the cleansing effect.  I loved this mini-facial, it’s the perfect destresser and provides affordable pampering.  M Steves offers this mini-facial free of charge if you buy $50.00 worth of product.  That’s a great deal, because if you try any of the RHSO products, you will want to use them at home.

M Steves $50.00 Facial Offer

Other services at the Beauty Cottage include eye-brow threading by GLENN and service and advice from M Steves founder Mally Steves Chakola.  When I stopped by I spent some time chatting with Mally about how good natural mint is for the skin. I ended up going home with a little mint plant and a recipe for a Kale Blueberry Mint Smoothie that was delicious and good for my skin.  Mint and Kale both contain Alkaline which is great for natural healing and even can promote weight-loss.  Who knew? It’s tips like this that make a visit to the Beauty Cottage such a great and unique experience.  You can hang out in the garden of the cottage and order some tea, a drink or some food from Zinque Bar next door.

If you’re not in Los Angeles you can order the  M Steves products online and spa at home.  This is good stuff for your skin made with natural products not chemicals.
