ARYNK S2014

Print maxi dress, top and pink shorts from Aryn K Spring/Summer 2014

With Los Angeles Fashion Week starting, it’s a good time to focus on Los Angeles designers.  Recently, I attended an event for Los Angeles fashion house Aryn K.  I hadn’t had the opportunity to see Aryn K garments in person and I was very impressed.  This line is well made, attractive and best of all very affordable.  If you’ve seen Aryn K designs, odds are you have viewed them online at web retailers like ASOS, Bluefly, Piperlime and even Amazon.    The line is also sold at Nordstrom’s stores.  Founded in 2008 by CEO/Creative Directors John and Kei Kim, Aryn K is based in downtown Los Angeles. Although Aryn K is West Coast based,  the line is influenced by various cultures.  Many of the clothes have a loose fit and an almost Indian style.  Flowy tops, playful prints and silk dresses are staples of this line. Celebrites who have been spotted wearing Aryn K include Alexa Chung, Olivia Palermo, Rachel Bilson and Taylor Swift.

Aryn K Yellow Top and Dress for Spring 2014

The Aryn K range includes  dresses, skirts, and outerwear for casual days and evening events.  I’m impressed by the variety of styles and the tailoring of the pieces. The Aryn K dress with ruched waist on ASOS looks like it walked right off the runway with its sleek silhouette.   In contrast, the Aryn K Silk Dress with Embroidery looks very Eastern  inspired with its drop waist, loose construction and neon stitching.  It’s a perfect dress for going out.  As you can see, Aryn K is a versatile brand. One thing I noticed going through the Aryn K garments that I saw is that their are designs not just for the tall and lean, but also for the curvy. There are many different styles for women to chose from.

If you’re not familiar with Aryn K, check out this brand. The value for price is there and I love all the variety and details.
