Nicole Miller’s Clever Designer Football helmet on Auction at Bloomingdales.

Nicole Miller, DKNY, Dennis Basso, Betsey Johnson and DVF–a few designer names that you wouldn’t associate with football.  But the game is changing.  Each designer has created a designer custom football helmet on auction now at Bloomingdales.com.  Why?  To raise money for those whose lives have been touched by football.  Seriously. These people need help our help and apparently designers making these gorgeous helmets is the best way to benefit these poor needy souls.   Can you even image the design and despair that can be relieved by this auction? 🙂  All 48 helmets, from 48 fab designers who are CFDA members are now on auction.  Fans can see all these haute helmets over at  Bloomingdales.com .   Bidding is open on the designer Super Bowl XLVIII helmets from now until– February 4, with 100% of the net proceeds benefiting the NFL Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those touched by the game of football.

Active bids of the designer  football helmets

Most of the helmets have bids on them under $300 with the exception on the Billy Reid Helmet, which has bids over $1,600 on it.  Frankly, I’m amazed people are bidding on this. I don’t think fashion and helmets are right for each other.   Bidding started at $248.00 and is going strong at Bloomingdales.com/superbowlhelmets.
