So what inspired Christian’s Fall 2011 collection?  Here’s what the Christian says. ” The clothes themselves are very beauty-centric, I focused on the delicate and the intricate. There is color involved; we have some greens and a beautiful mauve, and the shades of black and gray really helped me work more with different types of luxurious textures. I wanted some of the folds and sculptures of this collection to mimic the qualities of these plants. We have the large lapel of a cashmere coat overlapping onto itself, framing the wearer as the flower above. We have the drape of a lame blouse recalling a leaf in the rain and petals cut and embossed into these shapes. The silhouettes help bring the romance and softness to light, through the sexiness of the darker colors. After all, I still wanted this collection to be about my woman, the woman who wants to wear my clothing and feel beautiful in it. She likes this look of glamour but also loves to feel powerful. There is an inkling of military, and clean menswear-inspired trousers, a few double-breasted coats. There are structured jackets paired with soft sheer organic flowing skirts to bring some contrast. And since it’s fall, our woman can pair soft, feminine fabrics and cuts with a strong outer layer.”  Christian’s glamorous, romantic looks have made him a favorite on red carpets.
