First Look: William Rast for Target
The William Rast for Target collection lookbook is out and we got a sneak peak at the collection headed to stores on Dec. 19th. The pictures look good, true to the casual chic of William Rast that I saw at the recent Beverly Hills fashion festival. You can expect lots of denim, leather jackets with fringe, comfy tunics and plaid shirts. The collection is a snapshot of some of the William Rast brand’s greatest hits. The brand was co-founded by Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala in 2005 and has been a celebrity favorite. The limited-edition collection at Target launches just in time for holiday gift giving. The entire collection ranges in price form $16.99 to $199.99 and will be available only from Dec. 19, 2010 through Jan. 22, 2011 at most Target stores and on Target.com.
The men’s collection looks a lot like, well, Justin Timberlake. You can expect plaid and military-inspired button downs, graphic tees and nylon biker jackets. For women, there’s a mix of tailored pieces with hardware embellishments plus separates like western-style blouses, leather mini skirts, blazers and vests. The most expensive pieces in the collection are the leather jackets priced at $199.00 USD. If you’re outside the US, I’m sure you’ll find the whole collection on eBay after its Dec. 19th launch date. Since William Rast is sold in Canada, Italy, Germany, Russia and the United Kingdom, I’m sure fans outside the US will be looking to get some of the Target collection. When I interviewed William Rast designer Trace Ayala recently, he indicated he was very pleased with the quality of the Target collection.
One piece I have my eye on is the women’s tuxedo jacket for $49.99. It looks like a great holiday piece for casual and dressy looks. I also like the women’s twill jacket with the pleating around the shoulders. The leather jackets look good, but I have a hard time paying almost $200.00 for a Target piece. 🙂
