Gap T-Shirt Inspires Change for International Women’s Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day,  Gap has created a special edition purple t-shirt featuring a quote by poet  Azure Antoinette.  The shirt bears the quote. “The way to inspire change, is to recognize the wisdom of a woman.”  So true, right?  The t-shirt is on sale on Gap’s website for $29.99.

Not only is the shirt attractive, proceeds will benefit a good cause. Gap will donate $10,000 from the sale of this merchandise to CARE.  As many of you know, CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty.  As part of the effort to raise awareness for programs that help women around the world, Gap has launched a series of short films on their website under the theme  “One Stitch Closer.”  “One Stitch Closer” shares inspiring stories of women everywhere, who by improving their own lives, bring us one stitch closer to a brighter tomorrow. This six-part film series by director/cinematographer Rachel Morrison features six exceptional women from around the world telling their stories.   If you have some time, check out the films, they are really well done and informative.
