Happy Fourth of July: Start the Day with Social Media + a Free Starbucks Coffee

By  |

Happy Fourth Readers! I am doing a lot of nothing today, getting ready for BBQ and Fireworks at the Pier tonight. But, as usual, I am starting my day with a big cuppa coffee from Starbucks.  I want to let you know that if you are a coffee drinker, you can get some for free at your local Starbucks today Wednesday, the 4th of July, as part of Starbuck’s “we are indivisible” campaign.  Here’s the deal, just ask and you shall receive a a free tall hot brewed coffee, on Wed. July 4, 2012 only.  The free coffee is Starbucks way of getting consumers’ attention today to share their thoughts on their views of America.

In an open letter on the Starbucks website Howard Schultz, Starbucks chairman, president and chief executive officer asks all of us to join the conversation on the future of America via Social Media.  He says join,  “the national conversation with #INDIVISIBLE. Starting today, I invite you to share your view of America, and how we can all put citizenship over partisanship. On Instagram, post a photo of the America we all need to see. On Twitter, provide a link to an innovative idea. Blog about who’s making a difference in your community; or on YouTube, share how you made your American Dream come true. No matter where you post, if you use the tag #indivisible, Starbucks will do its part to collect and amplify your voices.”  I’m already on this, if you follow me on Twitter @Recessionista you’ll see my Tweets today with the hashtag #INDIVISIBLE.  I hope some of you will join the conversation!  Here’s my initial Tweet with a paraphrased quote from the Declaration of Independence.

Here’s a #coffee toast to “one nation under God #indivisible w liberty, freedom & justice for all!” http://instagr.am/p/MqjlqimWSQ/
