Los Angeles Designers Current/Elliott Head to Pottery Barn

By  |

Los Angeles-based fashion designers Emily Current and Meritt Elliott (‘Emily + Meritt’) have partnered with Pottery Barn for a collection of charming tabletop accessories, decorative accents, select furniture and bedding.  Current/Elliott has been best known for their distinctive jeans with vintage inspired touches.  Current/Elliott’s past design collaborations were with other fashion designers including Marni, DVF and Mary Katrantzou.  Now the brand expands into housewares following in the footsteps of other fashion labels who have crossed-over into other areas to expand.

” It’s exciting to design something for the living, dining and master bedrooms! We approach interiors the same way we approach fashion – layering whimsical, unexpected elements back to rethought classics.” said Emily Current and Meritt Elliott.

This collection for Pottery Barn offers a wide array of housewares, with over 30 items characterized by classic ticking stripes, unexpected gold and brass accents, whimsical touches and washed chambray.  The collection is designed to pay homage to Emily + Meritt’s denim-focused flagship apparel brand, The GREAT.

According to Pottery Barn “Signature pieces from the collection include the Bergere ChairBrass Peace Sign Jewelry HolderRaleigh Denim Bench and Denim Boudoir Pillow. ”  Shop carefully when you look at this collection, some items like the Raleigh Tufted Queen Bench With Nailhead are custom made to order item and cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged. Prices range from $8-$999 USD.  The collection is available now online at Pottery Barn and in stores.

Look for a second collection coming to stores for the holiday season.  Our spies tell us the holiday collection will include a Gold Top Hat Ice Bucket, Gold Jingle Bells Wine Opener, and a denim tree skirt and chambray stocking.  It sounds pretty cute.  We’ll wait to see it in stores to assess the quality for price.

Watch this space, I predict some of the higher priced items will go on sale perhaps as soon as Labor Day 🙂 Just a hunch.
