In keeping with a motif of “Luxurious Clothes and Beyond,” this season’s line, once again the fruit of the collaboration between UNIQLO and Parisian chic icon Ines de la Fressange, brings together Ines’ belief in designing clothes that all women can wear with comfort to reveal their beauty.
Inspired by winter vacations at popular French ski resort Megève, a ski resort town near Mont Blanc in the French Alps, inspired the new collection. The town has been beloved among artists for its delightful medieval streetscape and chalets. The town is perhaps be remember as the location of the film Charade, which starred Audrey Heburn and Gary Grant.
The collection’s outerwear focus is on relaxing fits, notably through a long coat reflecting contemporary tastes and an oversized down parka that is reminiscent of 1970″s sportswear. The masculine tailoring of jackets broadens their enjoyment with everything from traditional tweed to casual corduroy items. Chunky and nostalgic argyle patterned knits add flair to coordination.
Chic black appears for the first time this season, expanding coordination alternatives with Ines’ basic color navy blue. The color scheme of the collection also reflects Ines’ love of hues that brighten cold days, incorporating warm ambers and a sharp winter white.
The collection will be available in-store at just a few UNIQLO locations, but all the pieces will be available online starting Aug. 29, 2019.
