New Snoopy and Belle Exhibit features Hamilton Costumes
As New York Fashion Week kicks off, it’s only fitting that Snoopy & Belle make an appearance. The fashionable beagles, Snoopy and his sister Bell , return with “Snoopy & Belle in Fashion” at Brookfield Place, on Vesey St. in New York City from September 8 – October 1, 2017. The exhibit is is open to the public from 8:00am – 10:00pm daily. The exhibition of 10” on-trend vinyl Snoopy and Belle dolls features all new one-of-a-kind creations by Oscar de la Renta, Monse and Hamilton’s Tony Award-winning costume designer, Paul Tazewell.
For Oscar de la Renta, Snoopy and Belle are red-carpet ready with Belle in a Resort 2018 black and white organza jasmine embroidered tulle gown with a corded bow. She’s escorted by a dapper Snoopy in a double-breasted pinstripe suit.
Monse was inspired by Snoopy and Belle’s noses with black and white polka dots from the brand’s PF17 collection. Belle wears a cold-shoulder polka-dot silk-blend crepe dress and Snoopy, a polka-dot silk-blend crepe jacket with black and white striped trousers.
The Paul Tazewell x Hamilton doll set features exact miniature replicas of the costumes worn by the actors portraying Alexander Hamilton and his wife, Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway smash hit, Hamilton. In addition to the Tony that Tazewell received for his incredible work on the costumes, the hip-hop musical won 10 other Tony Awards in 2016, including Best Musical, Best Score, and Leading Actor in a Musical, among other categories.
Oscar de la Renta, Monse, and Paul Tazewell x Hamilton join a group of the world’s foremost fashion names—including Anna Sui, Ashley Biden x Livelihood, Barbara Tfank, Betsey Johnson, Bibhu Mohapatra, Calvin Klein Collection, Children of our Town, Christian Siriano, Colleen Atwood, Costello Tagliapietra and many more who have designed creations for Snoopy & Belle. If you’re a Peanuts fan in New York City, you will really enjoy this exhibit.
