There’s nothing recessionista about Nicole Kidman’s choice of gown at yesterday’s Cannes Film Festival. But the dress is so beautiful, I thought I would post a picture because it’s truly a work of art. Nicole Kidman wore a Giorgio Armani Privé long flared crinoline lace bustier dress with three-dimensional embroidery with crystals, baguettes and pearls in a range of dark and light blue tones. I can’t even imagine the handwork that went into the creation of this dress, it’s simply stunning. Unfortunately , the film Nicole was at Cannes to promote, Grace of Monaco, has received poor reviews. Grace Kelly was so well loved and well remembered, that perhaps there is simply no competing with the original Princess Grace in a biopic. Ms. Kelly’s Oscar Red Carpet dress from 1953 is one of the favorite red carpet gowns in the history of the Academy Awards.
